Overview
Michael Patterson earned his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Tampa in 2017, followed by an M.S. (2020) and Ph.D. (2024) in Chemistry and Chemical Biology from Cornell University. In his doctoral research, he employed a combination of structural and biochemical techniques to investigate the mechanisms underlying allosteric regulation in enzymes. He was hired by the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Cornell in 2025, where he currently teaches general chemistry.
