What are the most valuable skills you gained from your Arts & Sciences education?
As a result of my Arts & Sciences education I have become a more flexible student who easily learns on her feet. I've always been a quick learner, but the academic rigor of my varied classes as a double major in film and information science was a new challenge that let me flex both sides of my brain.
What is your main extracurricular activity--why is it important to you?
I have had the pleasure of being a part of a few organizations on campus. Serving as the promotions chairperson for the Cornell University Program Board taught me a tremendous amount while allowing me to have a great time at student events. It has been such a joy to bring speakers and comedians to campus through CUPB that entertain and uplift the student body. An added bonus was the opportunity to meet many of these influential people. One of my fondest memories was being able to chat about films with #MeToo founder Tarana Burke over dinner at Regent.
What have you accomplished as a Cornell student that you are most proud of, either inside the classroom or otherwise?
This academic year I was honored with a first-place prize in the Heermans-McCalmon writing competition run by the Department of Performing & Media Arts. I was delighted to be recognized by my department in this way, and I was provided with the opportunity to work with a professional director and cinematographer who elevated a story that was close to my heart.
